Additionally, when you love what you do, it’s like it’s built into your DNA to always improve, make things function better, look better or just be better. Why? Because you can and because it’s fun.

To continue loving what you do over time, it’s important to balance your work and personal life. We do not define someone as successful if they are so busy building a business that they forget to build a life. We founded this company for people to be able to balance work and personal life. Work hard, play hard, and love what you do!

We tap into the knowledge we have gathered working with hundreds of clients and use this knowledge to create strategic marketing plans that are custom to each client. Affordability and quality are important at RedKnight. This is why we have pioneered the use of a fixed price model in our industry. And we go one step further: we provide our services at the prices we quote.

Profitability is also important. Therefore, we make sure that we are able to deliver our services consistently, efficiently, and affordably: Consistent to enable trust; efficient to minimize costs; and affordable so that we are providing value.

We make this work by following a basic rule: Don’t reinvent the wheel. If a process or checklist exists, use it; if it doesn’t exist, create one. If someone else has the knowledge to facilitate a transaction, we involve that person and learn from them.

By following pre-established processes, we have more time and energy to work on what really matters. This is what empowers us to find custom solutions that are convenient and practical and design services that emphasize consistent, quick, and innovative design.

Achieve Profitability through Smart Growth

Smart growth is more than just working smart. Smart growth is about staying true to our core brand. Experience has taught us that when we stray from our brand, profitability rarely follows.

Just like with marketing, we don’t chase shiny objects. Instead we grow in a way that makes it easy to expand a new product offering. We do this by testing on a small group of current clients to see if a new product fits in with our model and is scalable. If it passes this test, we roll it out as a new product offering; otherwise, we drop it and move on.

Not only does this mean that we do not lie to each other or to customers, it also means that we do not prevaricate or provide half-truths. Honesty is at the heart of trust; and trust is required for any meaningful relationship to work.

We always tell potential and current clients the truth, even though sometimes they may not like it. When needed, we will provide brutal honesty. Many times, however, honesty can be provided in a manner that is polite and diplomatic. It is up to you to be honest with yourself about which approach is more appropriate in each situation.

We also encourage our customers to be honest with us. Honest information on their needs and feedback on their perception of our service and products enable us to grow the relationship and grow as an organization.

And, it should go without saying: never make an undeliverable promise.

Nurturing the individual is the key to success

A company is a collection of people who come together for a common purpose. To be successful, each individual must contribute every day. We provide an environment for creativity to prosper. And we value informed, involved employees who are driven and focused.

If we are not growing, we are dying. Sometimes growth occurs dynamically and requires little support. At other times, growth requires nurturing attention. Therefore, we are committed to giving individuals the tools they need to grow, be it the encouragement to try something new, an opportunity to cross-train, or the mandate to improve a process.

Nurturing attention is also expressed externally to our clients and vendors. By being honest and communicating with a goal to educate we create strong relationships based on trust and mutual respect.

It’s cheaper and more efficient to spend more time with the customer up front and accurately identify the right solution on the first try. Doing it right the first time involves listening to the client, asking questions, and being aware of your assumptions. In other words, strive for clear communications. It also involves double checking your work before marking it “Done.”

When we do it right the first time we eliminate errors, chaos, and waste. This results in not only greater efficiency but also happier customers. Doing things right the first time is the key to making everything work.

One important tool we use when creating marketing strategies is to base them on historical data. When we don’t have sufficient historical data to accurately evaluate future profitability, we test on a small scale.

The paradox of details and big picture drives expansion. It guides us to realize there is always another area to explore.

It also means that you do not operate alone and are not expected to see and understand every detail. As a group we are stronger and more successful because we collaborate and utilize skill sets across the company. We are a group of individuals not a collection of skills. Therefore, when we hire new people, we are more concerned with who they are as a person than we are with their accomplishments. Skills can be taught, but attitudes and values are hard to change.
